2013 Rules & Regulations

1. The Delta Agricultural Society shall not be liable for any loss to an exhibitor caused by fire,

accident, condition of structure, or the negligence of other exhibitors, officials or otherwise

howsoever.

2. The exhibitor's membership of $5 must be paid to the Delta Agricultural Society when

forwarding entry forms in order for such forms to be processed by the Secretary. There shall be

no fee for Junior Home craft Competition sections but should that Junior Exhibitor wish to enter

another section; the entry fee shall be applicable.

3. Any person exhibiting any article or animal not his/her bona fide property, or otherwise

violating any of the rules and regulations of the Society, shall be liable to expulsion and

forfeiture of premiums.

4. No person shall be allowed to enter for competition more than one article for the same prize,

unless the additional entry is a distinct and named variety different from the first, except for

diploma or a special.

5. No individual, except the judges and superintendents will be allowed to handle or touch any

article exhibited.

6. No person shall act as a judge or superintendent in a class in which he/she is an exhibitor.

Persons so acting shall forfeit all prizes awarded to them in such class (es).

7. All exhibitors must keep their animals in their designated areas at all times. Failure to comply

may result in forfeiture of prize money and/or the right to show.

8. Each livestock exhibitor shall respect and abide by the decision of the Fair Veterinarian or the

designate as being in the best interest of the parties involved.

9. Criticizing or interfering with the judge, show management or other exhibitors while in the

show ring or other conduct detrimental to the breed or show may result in disqualification. The

decision of the Committee Chairperson shall be final.

10. Where there is no competition or if the stock or articles be of inferior quality, the judges may

use their discretion and withhold the premium offered. Where there is only one entry, the lone

entry may not necessarily win a prize.

11. All exhibits in Classes H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O,P, Q, R, S, T, U and V must be placed in the

Main Exhibit Hall / Agricultural Produce Building on Wednesday, July 24th, 2013 between the

hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The hall will close at 9:00 p.m.

12. The above mentioned classes will be judged in the morning of July 25th. There will be NO

entries accepted on this date.

13. No hall exhibit shall be removed from the grounds until 5:00 p.m. on July 28th, under penalty

of losing premiums.

14. All items to be exhibited in the Home craft shall be executed within the last two years and

can only be shown for a maximum of two years.

15. SPECIAL PRIZES are offered in many sections. They are listed at the end of each class.

The specials must be listed on your entry sheet. You will be issued an entry tag for the special

along with a regular entry tag. No person may compete for more than one special on the same

exhibit.

16. ALL SPECIAL PRIZES must be collected within 30 days after voucher is issued. The special

is to be received as presented as merchandise vouchers will NOT be exchanged for cash.

17. Specials are subject to change without notice, but they will be replaced with something of

equal value. Should more prize money, certificates or gifts become available, they too will be

awarded at the fair.

18. Calculation of most point competitions does not require an entry tag. This is a manual

operation conducted at the office.

19. The secretary shall retain 10% as entry fees from all hall prize money awarded; 15% from

livestock (excluding cattle); and 20% from the cattle prize money. Such percentages are only

calculated on awards $10 and over, including specials. Entry fees for light horses are payable,

on the day of the show. All entry fees will be contributed towards prize money and therefore, no

HST will be applicable.

20. If the receipts are insufficient to meet the prize list in full, the prizes will be prorated as the

funds permit. This shall be a decision of the Board.

21. All protests must be made in writing to the Secretary on the day of the respective show

along with a non-refundable deposit of $25. The accuser shall furnish proof when called upon.

The decision of the committee shall be final.

22. Should any discrepancies occur in the awarding of prize money, the matter should be

referred to the Fair Secretary before September 15th, 2013. After that, all prizes will be assumed

to be correct.

23. The Treasurer requests that all cheques be cashed on or before September 30th, 2013

24. A service charge of $20 will be applied to all NSF cheques.

25. EXHIBITOR'S ADMISSION SCHEDULE.

Free admission passes, valid on the day of the show, will be issued to exhibitors as follows:

CATTLE: 1 to 4 animals - 1 pass, each additional 4 animals - 1 pass.

GOATS & SHEEP: 1 to 8 animals - 1 pass, each additional 8 animals - 1 pass.

HORSES: 1 to 2 animals - 1 pass, each additional 2 animals - 1 pass

OTHER DEPARTMENTS: 1 pass will be issued which will be valid July 28th only.

Exhibitor's passes must be called for at the Office. In no case will passes be mailed. Entry

tickets or Identification Certificates will admit the exhibitors with their exhibits upon their arrival

at the grounds; but afterwards, such exhibitors must be provided with a regular pass or pay the

regular admission fee. Please note that passes are not transferable.

26. The Delta Agricultural Society will not be held responsible for any printer's errors or other

palpable errors in this prize list.
