Competitions sponsored by the

Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies


The Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies sponsors various annual competitions at each fair within Ontario.


Sections


01: Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies 60% Whole Wheat Bread Competition

Must be also entered into Section M-2.

Minimum size: 8" x 4" x 2 1/2"

Maximum size: 9" x 5" x 3"


02: Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Annual Hand Quilted Competition

Must be entered into Section S-1.

Quilt must be solely made and hand quilted by the Exhibitor and shall be a

minimum of 324” measured on the perimeter.


03: Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Annual Machine Quilted Competition

Must be entered into Section S-4.

Quilt must be solely made and machine quilted by the Exhibitor and shall be a

minimum of 192” measured on the perimeter.

Note the article can be square, rectangular etc.


04: Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Annual Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition

Three Plain Chocolate Chip Cookies, without nuts, are to be no larger than 3" and no smaller than 2".


OAAS Competitions have 3 competitive levels.

Level 1: As part of the fair program, winners are selected at the local level. The first prize winners of each competition are then collected in October for competition at the District Level.


Level 2: Delta Fair is located within OAAS District 2 along with eleven other fairs within Leeds, Lanark and Renfrew Counties. A competition is held at the Fall District Meeting for the “Best in District Two”. The first prize winner of each competition is then collected in February for competition at the Provincial Level.


Level 3: Competitions at the Provincial Level for the “Best in Ontario” are held each February at the Annual Fair Convention in Toronto at the Royal York Hotel. Competitions are held between all fifteen Districts in Ontario.


Prize money / ribbons are provided at each level. Judging is conducted by OAAS certified adjudicators.
