The Delta Agricultural Society requests that all Concessionaires/Venders abide by the following Dog Control Policy in respect to the handling /control of dogs on the Delta Fair Grounds.
DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this policy, the following definitions shall apply:
AT LARGE:A dog shall be deemed to be running at large on the property referred to as the Delta Fair Grounds.
CONROL:Control refers to having at all times, the ability to manage, direct, restrict and restrain the movements of a dog.
DOG:Dog shall mean having a domesticated canine, dog or dogs, male or female, spayed or neutered.
LEASH:Leash shall mean a restraining device of sufficient strength and material that shall securely attaches the dog to a person or object.
WASTE:Waste shall mean excrement or feces and should be cleaned up after the dog at all times.
PUBLIC NUISANCE
•No person who owns or harbours a dog on the grounds shall permit such a dog to become a nuisance.
•A dog shall be considered a nuisance if:
•It persistently barks or howls and interferes with the normal enjoyment of the property.
•It causes damage to public or private property.
•It interferes with or dumps/scatters garbage.
•It persistently chases pedestrians, cyclists or motor vehicles using the property.
DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE
•The owner/care giver of the dog shall keep the dog leashed and under control of an individual when the dogs is on the grounds.
DOG BITE
•The owner/care giver of a dog shall take all precautions necessary to prevent the dog from biting or attacking any person, fighting with, attacking or biting and other domestic animal.
•The dog bite may be reported to Officials of the local Health Unit who may request specific testing be completed or quarantine measures be initiated.

WASTE
•No owner/care giver of a dog shall allow the dog to defecate on the property of the Agricultural Society without completely picking up the waste before leaving the scene and disposing of such waste.
•This does not apply to a Seeing Eye dog while on a leash and actually in use in providing assistance to a person with impaired vision.
ADDITIONS
•For all other matters, the Township of Rideau Lakes Animal Control By-Law shall govern.
•Any parties, who are unable to comply with the above notations, will be requested to remove the animal(s) in question from the grounds.
